Overview

Crank it to working height

The Scissor Lift Sawhorse puts a 5/8" fixturing top on a hand-crank scissor lift. Turn the handle clockwise to raise the table, counterclockwise to lower it, and set your work at the height that suits the job instead of bending to a fixed bench.

The top is a 5/8"-thick 45-steel plate with 5/8" holes on a 2" grid, nitrided and oxidized for wear and rust resistance, so it takes the same 5/8" clamps and fixturing accessories as the rest of the Strong Hand Tools 5/8" system. Underneath, a powder-coated Q235 steel frame rides on four locking polyurethane casters, with four rubber-padded leveling feet to plant it once it is in position.

Choose the 48" × 8" top (TSC4808) or the 60" × 10" top (TSC6010). Full dimensions for both sizes are in the table below.

How it works

Roll it in,
crank it up, lock it down

It arrives assembled. Casters, feet and the table top are already fitted; from the crate to working height is four moves.

    Roll it to the job

    Four 3" polyurethane casters carry the lift across the shop floor, so the table goes to the work instead of the other way round.

  2. Cranking the TSC6010 Scissor Lift Sawhorse up to working height

    Crank to height

    Clockwise raises, counterclockwise lowers. Stop anywhere from 18.1" to 47.2" on the 48" model, or 19.3" to 53.1" on the 60" model.

    Or let a drill do it

    Back off the locking screw and lift the handle away. A 3/4" (19 mm) socket on a cordless drill runs the lift through its full travel without cranking by hand.

    Lock it down

    Step on the four caster brakes, then wind down the leveling feet. The rubber pads take the weight off the wheels and plant the lift on the floor.

One thing to fit: the crank handle ships loose in the crate. Slide it onto the drive shaft and tighten its locking screw, and the lift is ready to crank.

    Pull the handle, chuck up a 3/4" (19 mm) socket. A cordless drill runs the lift up and down so you are not cranking through the full travel by hand.

    A locking screw holds the handle on; back it off and the handle lifts away. The 3/4" (19 mm) hex drive stays on the frame for a socket.

Questions, answered

Straight answers on sizes, the lift drive, the base and what fits the top.

What is the difference between the TSC4808 and the TSC6010?
The table top and the height range. The TSC4808 has a 48" × 8" top with 96 holes and adjusts from 18.1" to 47.2". The TSC6010 has a 60" × 10" top with 150 holes and adjusts from 19.3" to 53.1". The frame, materials, finish, casters and leveling feet are the same on both.
How do I raise and lower the table?
With the crank handle. Turn it clockwise to raise the table and counterclockwise to lower it. The handle is removable; a locking screw holds it on the drive shaft.
Can I use a drill instead of cranking?
Yes. Take the handle off and the drive shaft has a 3/4" (19 mm) hex. Fit a 3/4" (19 mm) socket to a cordless drill to run the lift up or down.
Does the top take my 5/8" clamps and fixturing tools?
Yes. The top has Ø5/8" (15.88 mm) holes on a 2" (50.8 mm) grid, the same pattern as the rest of the Strong Hand Tools 5/8" fixturing tables and sawhorses.
What is the table top made of?
5/8"-thick 45 steel (equivalent to AISI 1045), nitrided and post-oxidized. The nitride treatment hardens the surface and adds rust resistance; the top face is finished flat to 0.012" (0.3 mm) after treatment.
How does it stay put while I work?
Lock the casters and wind down the leveling feet. All four 3" polyurethane casters have brakes, and the four leveling feet have rubber pads so the lift sits solid on the floor instead of on its wheels.
What is the frame made of?
Q235 steel (equivalent to A36), powder coated. The scissor arms and base are matte black; the table frame is Strong Hand Tools yellow.
How much weight can it lift?
