Strong Hand Tools Scissor Lift Sawhorse raised to working height in a fabrication shop

Strong Hand Tools · 5/8" System

Scissor Lift
Sawhorse

A fixturing table that cranks to the height you need. A 5/8"-thick nitrided top with 5/8" holes on a 2" grid, on a hand-crank scissor lift with leveling feet and locking casters.

  • 48" × 8" or 60" × 10"
  • Crank or drill drive

Overview

Crank it to working height

The Scissor Lift Sawhorse puts a 5/8" fixturing top on a hand-crank scissor lift. Crank it (or run it with a drill) and set your work at the height that suits the job instead of bending to a fixed bench.

The top is a 5/8"-thick 45-steel plate with 5/8" holes on a 2" grid, nitrided and oxidized for wear and rust resistance, so it takes the same 5/8" clamps and fixturing accessories as the rest of the Strong Hand Tools 5/8" system. Underneath, a powder-coated Q235 steel frame rides on four locking polyurethane casters, with four rubber-padded leveling feet to plant it once it is in position.

Choose the 48" × 8" (TSC4808) or the 60" × 10" (TSC6010). Each size is a complete lift sized for its top; full dimensions for both are below.

How it works

Roll it in,
crank it up, lock it down

It arrives assembled. Casters, feet and the table top are already fitted; from the crate to working height is four moves.

  1. Guiding the Scissor Lift Sawhorse by its table top as it rolls across the shop floor

    Roll it to the job

Four 3" polyurethane casters carry the lift across the shop floor, so the table goes to the work instead of the other way round.

  2. Cranking the TSC6010 Scissor Lift Sawhorse up to working height

    Crank to height

Clockwise raises, counterclockwise lowers. Stop anywhere from 18.1" to 47.2" on the 48" model, or 19.3" to 53.1" on the 60" model.

  3. Close-up of the 3/4 inch (19 mm) hex drive on the end of the Scissor Lift Sawhorse table frame

Or let a drill do it

Back off the locking screw and lift the handle away. A 3/4" (19 mm) socket on a cordless drill runs the lift through its full travel without cranking by hand.

  4. Hand on a locking caster beside a rubber-padded leveling foot on the Scissor Lift Sawhorse base

    Lock it down

Step on the four caster brakes, then wind down the leveling feet. The rubber pads take the weight off the wheels and plant the lift on the floor.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Straight answers on sizes, the drill drive, the top and shipping.

What is the difference between the TSC4808 and the TSC6010?
The top, the lift and the rating. The TSC4808 has a 48" × 8" top with 96 holes on a 48.9" × 24.8" base, adjusts from 18.1" to 47.2" and is rated 375 lb. The TSC6010 has a 60" × 10" top with 150 holes on a 61" × 28.3" base, adjusts from 19.3" to 53.1" and is rated 595 lb. The crank drive, materials, finish, casters and leveling feet are the same on both.
Can I use a drill instead of cranking?
Yes. Lift the handle off and the drive shaft is a 3/4" (19 mm) hex; a socket on a cordless drill runs the lift.
Does the top take my 5/8" clamps and fixturing tools?
Yes. The top has Ø5/8" (15.88 mm) holes on a 2" (50.8 mm) grid, the same pattern as the rest of the Strong Hand Tools 5/8" fixturing tables and sawhorses.
What is the table top made of?
5/8"-thick 45 steel (equivalent to AISI 1045), nitrided and oxidized. The treatment hardens the surface and resists rust.
How much weight can it lift?
375 lb (170 kg) on the TSC4808 and 595 lb (270 kg) on the TSC6010. Both ratings come from the factory load test, raising and lowering the table under that load.
How does it ship?
Fully assembled inside a plywood crate on a built-in pallet. Crated, the TSC4808 is 52" × 28.3" × 25.6" and 280 lb; the TSC6010 is 64.6" × 32.3" × 26" and 400 lb. Only the crank handle needs fitting.
